So Queensland announced that teams would need to Quarantine if they move there. But they have the same weird idea as WA that any two teams that move there (aka Essendon and North) this week can play each other - because they are both in quarantine as long as no-one else goes near them? So what kind of Quarantine is this? Sounds similar to the Melbourne Motel Quarantine but for elite AFL sides only?!?
SA has ruled this out, to be fair to all Australian residents and sports athletes but if some teams have been in WA or QLD two weeks, then they could come here! This is evident in round 7 which has the Crows hosting St Kilda at Adelaide Oval presumably in front of half capacity. St Kilda will have been in Qld for two weeks so that flies (not quite as one!). The Power stay in Qld for round 7 and play Carlton at the Gabba. By then - both Qld teams are down in NSW!
The complexity with NSW is that SA doesn't open its borders to them until 20 July. The is after round 7.
The missing Bombers vs Demons match is still not scheduled.
So the Melbourne teams have evacuated the second wave in Melbourne and it is difficult to see when there might be AFL footy played in Melbourne anytime soon! What does it mean if the wave is not controlled quickly for the finals? Perth, Adelaide and Sydney are all clamouring to be involved. Could this be the first time we see a Grand Final away from the MCG? If they can only ease restrictions to allow 50% MCG occupnacy, perhaps a full Adelaide Oval is a much better bet! It will definitely be a night Grand Final. But we have to get there first and it is starting to feel like a long way away.
Is your head hurting yet? Mine is.
So new Round 6 has Cats vs Lions at the SCG on Thu night after which Cats go to Perth. Pies vs Hawks on Friday night at Giants Stadium (NSW) after which Pies go to Perth to form a hub. Then the Qld hub has Dockers vs Saints, Eagles vs Crows and Bombers vs North on Saturday and NSW hub has Demons vs Suns. Sunday is all Qld with Power vs Giants, Tigers vs Swans and Blues vs Dogs. Double header at Metricon.
So perhaps there were 2 upsets this week with only 10% predicting the Bombers over the Pies at the G and 39% predicting the Lions over the Power at the Gabba.. So does this rule out someone getting all 9 tips correct?
Let's all look together!!

The average total score is 24.0 and the average score this round was 5.1 which is actually 0.4 less than last week's average.
The Power are still 1st on the ladder despite the loss. Next 2 matches (that's all we have scheduled at this stage) are Giants at Metricon and Carlton at the Gabba.
The Crows are still bottom and showing no signs of enough improvement to win a match. Next 2 matches are, Eagles at the Gabba and Saints at Adelaide Oval.
